Product Description |
| In Batman: Vengeance, the gritty underworld of Gotham ignites as Batman becomes the target of a nerve-rattling conspiracy. After the Joker plummets to his death in an attempt to kill Batman, Gotham's criminals quickly escalate their schemes to gain power. Batman discovers subtle links in these seemingly unrelated crimes, but is forced undercover after being framed for an attack on Commissioner Gordon. Hunted by the police, the Dark Knight must pinpoint the unseen enemy weaving this sinister web before Gotham City falls to a fiery demise. Batman: Vengeance introduces the most versatile 3-D Batman game yet, with more than 500 animated movements, special fighting moves, and a multifunctional cape with its own AI. For the first time, players can journey through a fully rendered 3-D Gotham City with Batman's sleek weapons and devices at their fingertips, including the BatGrapple, BatScope, Batarang, BatLauncher, flash bombs, and more. There is a huge array of gameplay modes: exploring, fighting, first-person shooter, driving, flying, freefall, and puzzles. The Gotham City environment, reconstructed in full 3-D, contains 19 playable maps, including the rooftops, Gotham Industrial Research, and the Batcave. There are also more than 40 minutes of cinematics featuring the original voice cast of TV's The New Batman Adventures. The game's original story line was collaboratively written by Warner Bros. and DC Comics from the files of The New Batman Adventures. The Dolby 5.1 surround sound soundtrack features original music inspired by the TV series. Note: This product description refers to the PlayStation2 version. |

| As a Batman fan, I can let out a sigh of relief. I picked up this game on launch day and am I ever glad I did. The story, cutscenes, gameplay, and music are terrific. . .and the voices from the animated series, what more could you ask for. It is not without its flaws, but the feeling you get to finally be the Dark Knight the way he is meant to be outweighs any mishaps about the game. Well done Ubi-soft, my hat goes off to you. If you like games, buy this one!! |

| This is by far the best batman game ever. It is in no way little-kiddish. With a wide aray of powerful comboes and state of the art gadgets makes this a gamecube game worth getting. Its worth your money. For a video game this actually has a pretty clever plot. This game features villians such as the Joker and mr. Freeze. With both the police after you and the villians who framed you, your in for a lot of chaos. However it is a fairly short game with only 19 levels, it should keep you busy for a while. |
A much-maligned great game

| This game is actually fun. I've read the other reviews and I felt that I had to rebut them. If you like games like Grand Theft Auto Vice City, then this game would be below average. If you are looking for a game that is simple and fun, much like the old-school beat 'um ups, then this is a great game. There are no complex puzzles here. And there are no vast cities or levels here. It's just button-mashing like the good old days. So if you feel the urge to do some button-mashing to forget a stressful day at work then this one's for you. If you're a fan of Batman, then you should get this game. It is simple fun. |

Batman, the Dark Night sience 1940, has finally had a very comendable Gamecube Game. Not only is it based on the 1997 animated series "The New Adventures Of Batman", but also features classic characters such as Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Batgirl, and yes, you do get to fight The Joker. The game starts out where you have to save a woman from The Joker's time bomb. The story heats up after there. You may find the first two episodes "A Girl To Die For" and "In Cold Blood" fairly simple, but it gets harder, much harder. The coolest feature of this game is his Utility Belt Items. He has everything from remote charges, to Bateranges, to Bat Grapples (which looks awsome). When you use a utility belt item, you enter a first- person view (usually it is a third person view). The controls are fairly simple to master (once you get used to how to use your Gadgets). Batman, and all other characters are full 3-D motion characters. You can fistfight, glide in the air with your cape, freefall to save people, and run around full 3-D environments. And yes, you can drive the batplane and Batmobile. If someone is shooting at you, but you are to close to exchange fists, Think Batman! Take out a baterang an wield it at the gun! The enemy will drop the gun and will no longer be able to be armed. The game includes frequent movie clips that pop up between levels and look great! It is like watching the cartoon in 3-D! Overall the game is great. Whether you're a Batman fan or not, i'm sure this game will please you. |
